AUTISTIC LINCS
THE STORY
If you want change to happen, sometimes all you have to do is be brave enough to ask.
I had known Winston Brown through my collaborations with various arts projects via Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV) and my own desire to create new opportunities within the arts so it wasn't difficult for me to e-mail him about another new opportunity.
He swiftly transferred me to, Jeremy Ransome, Editor of Lincolnshire Free Press (LFP) and its sister paper Spalding Guardian (SG), who then asked me to write the first column and he would see what he thought of it.
Well, safe to say, he really enjoyed it and told me that he was willing to give it a go and it would last for as long as I could make it.
So, amidst the SEND crisis and PIP pandemonium where people are demanding robust change to entire systems, sometimes all it takes is the boldness to ask; Is this possible? Can I lead it? Are you willing to let me try?
Opportunity knocked. I answered.
I will be forever grateful to Winston, Jeremy and the entire team involved in both papers and will make damn sure that this opportunity keeps knocking.
